Tennyson’s Suppressed Poems

XXXIV

Song

Alfred Tennyson

                WHO can say
                Why To-day
To-morrow will be yesterday?
                Who can tell
                Why to smell
The violet, recalls the dewy prime
Of youth and buried time?
The cause is nowhere found in rhyme.
